It is essential for our team to create a safe and relaxed environment for each of our patients to enjoy when they come for their visit to our Burlington practice. We do understand that many of our patients experience various levels of anxiety when it is time to visit a dentist or a dental hygienist. Therefore, our dental practice offers sedation dentistry services, with options ranging from moderate to moderate sedation.

What types of sedation dentistry do we offer in Burlington?

To help you overcome the fear of visiting a dental office, our practice in Burlington offers various types of dental sedation:
Inhaled sedation: is a combination of nitrous gas and oxygen, also known as ‘laughing gas’, that is delivered through a mask placed over your nose. The dentist is able to adjust the level of gas that you breathe in, allowing you to relax during the procedure. The effects are short-lived; therefore, once the mask is removed, you are able to travel back home on your own.
Oral sedation: you will take a pill one hour before your appointment, which will make you drowsy but still alert. The effects of this sedation are moderate, and you should recover from them within a few hours of taking the medication.
IV sedation: offers a deep relaxation during the appointment, by delivering the sedative through an IV line. You will remain conscious throughout the procedure, however as it will take few hours for the effects of the sedative to wear off, each patient is required to have a relative or a friend to accompany them home.

The oral health of the residents of Burlington is vital to us, and we will do our best to ensure that you receive the care you need.
